There is ample lodging and dining for the casual
vacationer and the seasoned camper. Also, the chance to see moose in the wilderness areas
and along roadsides abounds in much of the region. Come visit our North Country and spend
as much time as you can ANY time of the year.

Difficulty: Moderate to Rugged
Hiking Time: Approx. 21/2 hrs. round trip
Distance: Approx. 2.4 mi. (Round trip)
Meeting Place: Trailhead at the grassy pull-out on the
southwest side of Rte. 26 - in between The Balsams Grand Resort & the
Wilderness Ski Area
Meeting Time: 12:45 p.m.
What to Bring: Daypack, Plenty of Water, Snack, Bug

GUIDED HIKE ON LAKE FRANCIS TRAIL - PITTSBURG
Difficulty: Easy w/a couple of short, steep grades
Hiking Time: Approx. 11/2-2 hrs. round trip
Distance: Approx. 3 mi. (One Way, We will be hiking from the Carr's Ridge
Bridge, off the River Road, to Cedar Stream Road, Clarksville where hikers
will be shuttled back to Young's Store at the end of the hike.)
Meeting Place: South end of parking lot at Young's Store on Rte. 3,
Pittsburg
Meeting Time: 9:30 a.m.;
